Gov-elect Bob McDonnell will have the “Opportunity Virginia” political action committee as his personal political treasury while in office.
The Virginia Public Access Project spotted the filing with the Virginia State Board of Elections. Money raised through the PAC will allow McDonnell to support all of his political activities and to distribute cash to candidates and causes.
It will be run by his campaign manager Phil Cox.
“Opportunity Virginia will enable the governor-elect to assist other candidates and leaders who share his positive vision for creating new jobs, keeping taxes low and providing new opportunities for all citizens,“ said McDonnell spokesman Tucker Martin.
